Today the art group presented their work to the school at assembly, telling them about the site visits & showing their photos & drawings. At the end they gave out the flyers for this blog so that other children could see all the things we’ve been doing..

site visit pm workshop 6.6.07
June 19, 2007In the afternoon we did drawings about the morning site visit & made a list of things we remembered. The drawings will be used in a presentation by the art group to the school on June 20th. Caleb took this pic of a crane & then drew it from memory

Before we looked round the site we talked about the building using eco materials & went through a list of interesting points that Tom the architect had sent. eco-credentials.doc

April 25th site visit with the ‘art group’
May 16, 2007well, more & more the ‘art group’ are the lucky ones going on site to see their new school in progress.
Since the March visit lots had been done. The roof looks more ready – it will be planted with sedum at some point. Last time Mick showed us the materials for insulating and for covering the roof ready for planting.
This time we thought about materials more & even took some away with us..

March 28th site visit with artists..
May 11, 2007Hannah Cox & gHOSTbOY will be doing some sessions with children from Barton Hill primary school.
gHOSTbOY already grafittied the hoardings before the project started…
Julian guided us through the site, here he’s looking at the children’s drawings from the last visit.
- great site visit as we went up on the roof & spent ages chatting to everyone.
There’s a buzz on site, everyone is really informed about the ecological / sustainable intent and enjoying working with natural materials. there’s more pics of the building here
